AMD’s Zen 4 codenamed ‘Raphael‘ will be based on the 5nm process node. Previous leaks pointed towards a maximum boost clock of over 5.5GHz on the R9 7950X. Interestingly, across all 16 cores the same CPU can hit a whopping 5.1GHz. Starting off, the flagship R9 7950X will ship with 16 cores/ 32 threads. Reports have come in stating that the base clock has been increased from 3.4GHz to 4.5GHz in comparison with the R9 5950X. The boost clocks? They’re at a massive 5.7GHz for a 800MHz (0.8GHz) increase over Zen 3. The R9 7900X will feature 12 cores has a base clock of 4.7 GHz giving it a massive lead of 1GHz as compared to the R9 5900X. This CPU can be boosted up to a maximum of 5.6GHz, just shy of the flagship. For the budget segment, the lower end Ryzen SKUs will not have extra cores as compared to Zen 3. The Ryzen 7 7700X consisting of 8 cores / 16 threads reportedly clocks at 4.5Ghz (base), which can be boosted up to 5.4GHz. Yet again, there is no mention of the Ryzen 7 7800X, which if linked with our previous leaked launch lineup hints that we may not see this SKU on launch. The infamous R5 7600X will support boost clocks as high as 5.3GHz. The TDP for all these CPUs has been leaked beforehand.
