The sequel to God of War 2018 has managed to build its reputation on par with its predecessor and fans and critics are loving its visuals, story and gameplay. Today, Gfk Entertainment Charts told GamesIndustry.biz that God of War Ragnarok on launch day in the UK has outsold the first week of God of War 2018. Gfk Entertainment Charts head Dorian Bloch said: Dorian Bloch also mentions that God of War Ragnarok will be the number-one-selling game of the franchise on UK Sales charts, and the Day 1 physical sales were already ahead of GOW 2018 launch week sales. It was also revealed that 55% of PlayStation 5 console sales this week are part of the God of War hardware bundle. However, a lot of people reported that their physical copies and collector’s edition of God of War Ragnarok are messed up; some people are receiving the PlayStation 4 version of the game, although they bought the PlayStation 5 version. Day 1 physical sales were already greater than any other full-week launch sales for other titles in this franchise.” While some gamers who purchased the Collector’s Edition didn’t receive the physical copy or game code in the box, steel books were also missing from the ultimate physical edition of the game. A Twitter account @HelpUsSMS highlighted all the mishaps people faced after purchasing the game’s physical edition. Which clearly shows that the demand of the game was so high that retailers were unable to keep up. As for the sales records of God of War Ragnarok, Sony has yet to reveal the accurate sales figure of the game on its launch day, but clearly, it will be record-breaking as we have already got a snippet of God of War Ragnarok’s sales. So what are your thoughts about the sales record of the game in the UK? Let us know in the comment section below.
